That's a Wrap!
Plus a Variety Show encore.
Hey friends, it’s Sarah Watts!
Last month, Jessica Swift and I hosted the Pattern + Process Variety Show, and wow—it was a blast. If you missed it, this was an incredible event for surface designers feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just curious about how others make their art (and income) work. I left the event feeling incredibly inspired - my heart is full, to say the least.
Good news:
We turned everything into a replay bundle—and it's available until April 30th! There are over 10 hours of content in the Variety Show. There are two ways to join and watch at your own pace:
$40/month cancel anytime – Join Sketchbook Squad and get access to the replays plus ongoing monthly pattern and sketchbook lessons.
$47 one-time – Just want the replays? Grab a year of access.
The goal? To help you find a process that actually fits you, and to show the real side of working in surface design. Because, let’s be honest, it’s not always Pinterest-perfect.
We packed this thing with value —demos, convos, and insights from artists we love. You'll see pattern workflows in Procreate, Illustrator, and Photoshop from some incredible guests like Jen Hewett, Peggy Dean, Jessica Swift and me. We also added special bonus sessions with Rashida Coleman-Hale, Dylan Mierzwinski, and Melody Miller.
This event meant a lot to me, and to our amazing community who showed up. If you’re curious, stuck, or need a creative boost, I hope you’ll get in this room.
XO,
Sarah
Next month(May), I am doing a demo in Photoshop on how to do basic photo editing for social media. You can join Sketchbook Squad here to attend. For Substack paid subscribers, you can see a 2-minute video of how I did this portrait with Photoshop and $3 in photo props below!
xo,
Sarah
